Super Soccer Oddsfeed on track for further success in 2016

With their revamped Goalscorer, Prices and Settlements (GPS) product, Super Soccer Oddsfeed and Abelson Info are preparing for a full-on assault of the lucrative – and growing – goalscorer market in Europe and beyond.

Super Soccer Oddsfeed enjoyed a series of industry coups in 2015, securing deals with major bookmakers and breaking into the untapped European market with its Goalscorer, Prices and Settlements (GPS) product, but the company, along with partner Abelson Info, are planning to make even greater strides in 2016 as the interest in goal-scorers continues to grow.

According to Oddsfeed partner Jeevan Jeyaratnam, operators on the continent are starting to follow the UK in embracing the huge potential of derivative markets like goalscorers – and the hype is likely to build further as the Euro Championships kicks off this summer.

"There is no doubt that the European Championships will be in the industry spotlight as soon as an intriguing domestic season has been completed," Jeyaratnam told Betting Business at in January. "One of the key means punters can interact is by having a goalscorer bet, and we know demand for every one of these games will be high."

But it isn’t just the headline-grabbing international tournaments that are due to cause a boom in the goalscorer business. Last year, several domestic competitions – including the Australian A-League, the Dutch Eredivisie and the Russian Premier League – were added to Super Soccer’s GPS by popular demand. The signs are pointing towards a far more globalised sports-betting community, with punters increasingly following tournaments and teams from abroad, fuelling the appetite for goalscorers.

"World sports coverage has expanded and improved immensely over the past few years, and video games like FIFA mean that bettors and football fans are taking even more notice of individual players and their records on the pitch," explained Jeyaratnam. "Punters are demanding new ways to engage with both the game and the players, and operators are looking to capitalise on this while earning a healthy margin."

He added: "Our GPS product is perfectly set up for both UK-based and international operators. Not only does it now offer 18 individual player markets, but it can also calculate prices with or without margins – making it ideal for bookies taking bets in alternative tax jurisdictions."

Super Soccer Oddsfeed and Abelson Info rounded off a successful 2015 with a landmark deal with French-facing operator Betclic Everest Group, marking a break-through into the untapped European goalscorer markets. "This latest deal is not just significant for us," Jeyaratnam commented at the time. "It also proves that Europe-based GPS products are gaining ground on the continent after previously lagging behind the UK. Betclic, a huge force in Europe, has evidently recognised the potential."

Now the company hopes to capitalise on this growth with its updated and improved GPS product, kick-starting the year with a series of meetings at ICE. "We’re anticipating that more and more young people are going to be opening betting accounts in Europe over the next few years, with football remaining the mainstay of most sportsbetting operations," Jeyaratnam added.
